The main goal of preaching

“What is the chief end of preaching? I like to think it is this. It is to give men and women a sense of God and His presence.”

-- Martyn Lloyd-Jones, quoted in John Woodbridge, editor, More Than Conquerors (Chicago, 1992), page 209.

I enjoy your short and powerful posts!

My curiosity has yet been unsatiated though, as to the meaning or origin of the label "HT:" that you frequently use. The context seems to convey some idea of the meaning, but I haven't been able to figure out the acronymn... maybe "heartfelt thanks"?

:-)

I'm glad you enjoy the posts. And I had to ask someone the same question you did. Apparently in the blogosphere "HT" means 'hat tip', as in, a tip of the hat to thank the person who was the source of the blog content. Hope that helps.
